there was a little boy named Joseph. He was only four years old. He had a sweet smile, bright eyes, and big dreams. But one day, Joseph got very sick and Diagnosed with a tumor in his stomach became very big. He was in pain. He could not run, play, or eat properly like other kids.
His parents were very poor. They didn’t have money to take Joseph to a big hospital. They were scared. They were crying every day, holding Joseph in their arms. They didn’t know what to do.
Someone told them, “Why don’t you ask the newspaper to tell Joseph’s story? Maybe someone will help.” So, the newspaper wrote Joseph’s story. They showed his photo and told everyone that he needed an operation to live.
When we at Padmanarayana Charitable Trust read this story, our hearts broke. Our Chairman sir looked at Joseph’s photo and said, “We will help this child. He is not alone anymore. We are his family now.”
Right away, we contacted Joseph’s parents. We went to their home. The moment we saw Joseph, we knew we had to do everything we could to save him. We told the parents, “Don’t worry. We will take care of everything. You just hold his hand and give him love. We will take care of the rest.”
Our team started working quickly. First, we took Joseph to the hospital. But there was a problem. Joseph was very small and weak. Many doctors were scared to do the operation. They said it was very risky.
We were so happy. But the operation was very expensive. We needed a lot of money. So, we started asking people for help. We organized donation camps all around Visakhapatnam. People gave us money with love. Some gave ₹10, some gave ₹1000. Every rupee mattered. School kids, shopkeepers, workers, everyone came forward like Joseph was their own child.
We collected the money. We paid for Joseph’s tests, medicines, hospital stay, and the operation. We also gave some money to Joseph’s parents so they could buy food and stay near the hospital.
But then, a kind doctor named Dr. Gitanand from shankaramatam area Visakhapatnam came forward by the request of our chairman. He said, “I will help this little boy. I will do my best to save him.”
The day of the operation came. We were all praying. The operation was long and very hard. But the doctor didn’t give up. After many hours, the doctor came out with a smile and said, “The operation is successful. Joseph is safe.”
We were so happy, we cried. Tears of joy filled everyone’s eyes. Joseph was safe. He was going to live. He was going to grow up.
After the operation, Joseph stayed in the hospital for many days. Our volunteers visited him every day. We brought him toys, food, and books. We gave hugs and smiles. His mommy and daddy also smiled again after many days.
Now, Joseph is healthy. He is running and playing again. He laughs loudly. His parents thank us every time they see us. But we say, “Don’t thank us. It was everyone’s love that saved Joseph. We just helped bring that love together.”
This is what Padmanarayana Charitable Trust does. We are not just a group. We are a family. We help people who need love, care, and support. We believe that no child should suffer just because their parents are poor. Every child deserves a chance to live, laugh, and dream.
Joseph’s story is one story. But there are many Josephs out there. We want to help all of them. And we can, if we all join hands.
To everyone who donated, supported, and prayed — thank you. You didn’t just save a boy. You saved a future.
A Note from Our Chairman
“Children are the light of our future. When one child is in pain, it’s like the whole world is hurting. When we save one child, we save a world of love. Let us all become hands of hope, hearts of kindness, and lights in someone’s dark night.”
– Chairman, Padmanarayana Charitable Trust
